November 8-14, 2018: Eight of Swords

A woman is bound and blindfolded, feeling trapped in a prison of swords. The landscape is stormy and gray, indicative of despair and depression. The comfort and peace of the castle are far away. This card represents self imposed boundaries. The ties are not very tight, the woman could free herself from her prison.

Be careful making big decisions if you’re feeling like the Eight of Swords. Your way of thinking is limited, probably because there is a perspective you haven’t uncovered yet.

This week, scholarly Jupiter enters fiery Sagittarius. This energy will increase your cultural and spiritual awareness. The Eight of Swords symbolizes an intellectual assessment of a situation. You might feel like a victim, for very valid reasons. However, it takes an emotional response to pull yourself out of the victim mentality and take back your power. The energy of Jupiter and Sagittarius will help give you a push. Call on them for confidence.

You are able to create your own opportunities and attract good fortune with your energy. Don’t be like the Eight of Swords; make your own path. It’s time to take back your power!

November 1 – 7, 2018: Ace of Swords

A clouded had reaches out, offering you a sword representing intelligence. The crown on top of the sword gives you the gift of mental clarity and powerful thoughts. The wreath adorning the crown represents victory and success. This card is your “a-ha!” moment. It also means that you might be entering a situation that is a double edged sword. Or, you might be starting a new adventure that is going to change the way you think.

This week Jupiter trines Chiron. Chiron is a comet, its energy helps you perceive new levels of intellect and Jupiter helps you feel the emotions associated with change. On Tuesday November 6th, temperamental Uranus retrograde enters independent Aries. During retrogrades, we experience slow downs or setbacks in the qualities of the planet. Uranus retrograde means you should probably put your an ego in a time out for awhile because you’ll be seeking some extra attention. Attempts to get special attention will backfire.

The new moon arrives on Wednesday, November 7th in transformational Scorpio. This is a good time to embrace your shadow side. Don’t worry, you will adjust the same way that your eyes adjust to the dark night. Work on shifting the blockages in your life. Be an alchemist. Create new things. Renew your soul before Winter sets in like the landscape of the Ace of Swords.

Use this time to clear out the old ways of thinking that are no longer serving you. Seek truth and justice. Open your mind. Don’t fear the shadows. Be careful not to get swallowed up by your own subconscious. Be smart, but don’t be cold.

August 23-29, 2018: Eight of Pentacles

A craftsman is hard at work, his achievements are on display but there is more to be done. This card represents a diligent attitude, suggesting that you are truly applying yourself to a major task. This is a fitting card for the week, because on August 23rd, the sun enters Virgo, which will you have feeling like a bit of a perfectionist. If you are having trouble staying focused, stimulate your earthly senses by exercising, spending time outside and eating well. Then give yourself some space from other people as you get back to work.

On the 25th, Jupiter is going to be in a unique position to Chiron. Chiron is a comet with an erratic orbit. This interaction will make you feel like you are gaining a deeper understanding of your world view.

It’s important that you pay attention to healing your deepest inner wounds as part of your growth.

On the 26th, the full moon enters Pisces, which will open the flood gates to your emotions and the feeling of perfectionism will grow stronger. On the 27th, Mars, which affects energy, will return to direct motion. Any sluggishness or difficulty focusing will subside. You’ll want to accomplish a lot, all at once. Pace yourself, be patient but assertive.

August 16-22, 2018: The Sun

This card is a reminder to let your inner child shine through. A bouncing baby rides on a white horse, a symbol of innocence and purity. The scene is radiating action, life and vitality. This represents the happiness you feel when you are truly in tune with your highest self.

Think of the sun card as your inner flame when Jupiter trines Neptune and Mercury spins back into direct motion on August 19th. Jupiter is a ruler of light, sky and weather; Neptune is the ruler of the sea. You’ll have a hard time being productive at first, feeling so idealistic, that it’s difficult to start projects if things aren’t perfect. There is no need to rush.

During this week, watch out for opportunities that excite you; follow your arrow. What is for your highest good? Explore this question. The feeling of slowness and confusion will clear from your mind within a few days. When you break through the clouds, start to apply what you have learned. Be patient with yourself and those around you. Stay connected to your inner sun.
